PARENT EDUCATION INFO

The Illinois Supreme Court Rule 924 mandates that all parents with minor children involved in legal separation, divorce or parentage actions complete an approved 4 hour parent education program to help educate parents about the impact separation, divorce, family reorganization, conflict and family litigation can have on children and parents. Unless otherwise ordered by the Judge, parents must take the course as soon as possible, but not later than 60 days after an initial case management conference.

Level One Courses are the only parent education programs authorized by the the 17th Judicial Circuit (Winnebago and Boone counties) and approved by many other counties in Illinois. The completion of any other non-authorized online or in-class parent education program will not satisfy the Circuit Court’s mandatory parent education requirement.

Cost is $125* per parent. Each parent is responsible for paying his or her own fee for the program.
*If financial assistance is needed, apply before registering and paying for the course (see below).
